Posted in Uncategorized by eyebee on April 3, 2009

This just in from The Deccas, a great indie band from The Medway Towns, in England…

Hello again Deccas-fans!!

We trust the arrival of spring sees you well and hope you are up for one or two of the following gigs. We’ve already been pretty busy this year and plan to release and self-promote an album in the summer, but in the mean time we have a few big gigs for you:

Saturday 11th April, Dublin Castle, 94 Parkway, Camden, London, NW1.

Following our debut for Bugbear Promotions back in February at the Hope and Anchor on the night the south east ground to a snowy standstill, we’ve been asked to play again and this time at their other legendary venue The Dublin Castle. Now anyone who knows the gig circuit will tell you this is in the top 5 venues to play; it was Madness’ second home when they first hit the scene and is steeped in musical history.

£6 o.t.d or £5 with flyer (coming soon)

Headline (10.15): M.O.T or A Quick Minute t.b.c.

1st support (9.30): Gambling Hearts
2nd support (8.45):  The Trophy Hearts
3rd support (8.00): The Deccas

Thursday 23rd April, Tap n Tin, Railway St, Chatham Town

Mods Mayday 30th Anniversary. The original Mods Mayday was an all day event held at the Bridgehouse pub (sadly demolished to make for Canning Town Flyover) in 1979 and featured six mod revival bands of the time. These performances were recorded and a historic album was released. 30 years on and we’re still celebrating it!

Bands confirmed so far include The Deccas, Bermondsey Joyriders, The Loop, The Sons, The Dilemmas, Rocksmith and fellow Kent acts The Effectives and Springtide Cavalry. £10 for an all day ticket with music from 12pm to 3am

Saturday 22nd May, International Pop Overthrow, The Cavern, 10 Mathew Street Liverpool L2 6RE

A dream comes true!!! You may have guessed we love the whole 60’s music scene and its history so to get the opportunity to play a venue so key to the careers of those bands really is something else.

The International Pop Overthrow (or IPO, as it has affectionately become known) is a pop music festival which is held in week long stints at 13 cities in America and, for the last few years, a week in Liverpool. Each International Pop Overthrow takes over the local live music hot spots and features showcases from 25-180 of the best pop bands from around the world. The purpose of International Pop Overthrow is two-fold: one aim is to give every worthy band who'd like to play their music in a festival atmosphere the chance to do so, and the other is to bring pop music the attention it so richly deserves.

For further info on I.P.O. go to www.internationalpopoverthrow.com

We are playing two slots on the Saturday: 1:45 PM at The Cavern Pub and 8:15 PM at The Cavern Club on the back stage.  Entry is free!!!
